I covered the three infrared lights with black tape turned on the color night vision and the porch light and i get a good picture that way otherwise it s black and white and you cant see anything but shadows with the porch light on or off. I did not cover up the infrared sensors with tape. Your ring video doorbell pro is designed to draw power from the same 16 volt ac power transformer as your internal doorbell mechanism. Problems can arise however when a doorbell mechanism draws so much power that there s not enough left over to power your ring video doorbell pro. I think this started with the new update to the app.

All i have done is turned on the porch light during the night and turned on the color night vision in video settings. Now the doorbell will work through the dark hours. But ring has been tenacious and through constant. Tap the three lines on the top left.

Open the ring app. This makes absolutely no sense to me as there is a front yard light on a pole no more than about 5 yards from the doorbell. Ring s video doorbell 2 is a solid performer and will keep watch on your porch with day and night vision.
